Now that it's spring, check out your local do it yourself car wash and find out where they are taking the gunk from the pit in the wash bays when they clean them out. If it is a wide pit it will likely contain a lot of coins and if they use them, wash tokens. It is possible there may be some lost jewlery also. Ask the people there if they have had any reports of lost jewlery or other items. Also make sure you also find out where they clean the trailer that they haul it with. Those coins tend to settle and get washed out where they finish cleaning it. They usually clean these pits more than once a year too.
